A trip worth taking

We had a really great time at the farm visiting family and friends and having lots of downtime to just relax and play. It is hard to choose just a few photos to share but I think the ones above illustrate some of the good times the boys had with each other, their cousins and the cows. For those who may may be unaware, my parents are dairy farmers, as are my two younger brothers (to varying degrees), so a visit to Grandma and Grandpa Lee's means a visit to the farm with lots to do and lots of people to see. My older brother and his family, as well as many extended family members, also live nearby so we got to see many loved ones.

In fact, we were having such a good time we ended up extending our trip by 10 days so just returned last week after about six weeks away. Malcolm's health continues to blossom and he seemed to grow a lot and gain a lot of strength while we were away. We visited the oncology clinic twice in London, Ontario - once to have some rashes checked out (none were bacterial so not a concern) and once to have his monthly bloodwork done. His bloodwork was great - platelets and hemoglobin are excellent at 338 an 144 and ANC is slightly low at 1100 but this is not a concern.

We had a reprieve last week while we settled back into life in Halifax but the next few weeks are full of appointments and engagements. I will try to update the blog once a week or so but will likely not maintain it to the extent that I did while Malcolm was undergoing treatment. It is wonderful to be able to focus our attention on other concerns and interests.

We continue to be thankful that we once more have a happy, healthy family.
